Guanaco

the Guanaco is the less seen member of the camiloids in peru it lives wild in the very remote parts of Peru, llamas alpacas and vicuñas being most commen and domestacly hearded for their wool are more easlly seen.
on the road Nasca to Pampa Galera we have seen guanacos in this same streach of road on past trips, only never long enugh to get a photo, what luck as this one poses for me at the road side a very rare sight.

Way up in the Andes

On the road in high Andes Altiplano the Airplane altimater in my truck reading 14,840 ft, for about an hour. But this is not so high. Going over the pass to Colca Caynon it was reading close to 16,000ft! Its a good thing I had 2 Oxy bottles for my prima favorita.Posted by Picasa
